Easter Holidays - Hurrah!

They are here at last - our holidays. So Em and I are off to visit my parents in Dorset whilst Tony stays at home as he has to go to work :( But then Em is off in the caravan for a holiday with my parents. Tony is joining me later in the week and we are going to Cornwall for a long weekend. We are hoping to visit: The Eden Project, & Lost Gardens of Heligan plus whatever else appeals to us while we are there. I finished making a bag for Lesley's birthday although it was a little late arriving.

Nothing on the needles at the moment but I am crocheting a bag in 5 ply garden twine but as it is very hard on my fingers I'm only doing a couple of rows each evening. Tony says that it looks like the sole of a shoe for a giant! Can't decided what to knit next, perhaps socks - not sure. Hope you have a good week, Jane x

  3. The lost gardens of Heligan. Oh my oh my....we went for a visit last summer ...it was the best day of the holiday and that is saying something as I am a beach lover. I bought the book all about the work they have done and I pick it up well, weekly to look through it. I hope you have a great time there, take some lovely pictures...
Enjoy the holidays. Hope you have better weather than us!!!

  4. Just do not make socks from the garden twine!
Any chance you can squeeze me in the boot to go to cornwall with you? The lost gardens of Heligan are amazing, i will hopefully go there every year from now onwards, its probably my most favorite place to be - EVER!!!! I really recommend you go there. Ive been to the Eden project too but it didnt live up to the hype im afraid. Very commercial and too busy for our liking. Nice experiance, but not when your walking round with a thousand other visitors. We could hardly move! and we didnt even go in peak season! I suppose its good to go there once or you'l always wonder what its like, but id never go there again, probably not even if it was free, well, ok, maybe if it was free! my dad and step mum didnt like it either but theyve been twice (they live near it). Pleae take lots of photos while your in Cornwall, and blog all about it!!!

  8. I hope you enjoy Cornwall and expecially Heligan - we were there a couple of years back and found it a magical place. We're hoping to return this summer.

Intriguing crochet - I don't think my poor fingers could manage that!

  9. Ooh your poor fingers! I crocheted a basket with twine and developed a very strange white lump on my thumb. Nice!

The bag you made for Lesley is lovely.

Hope you're having a fab holiday; I'm off to follow your links and just pretend I'm there!

    :)
