Best Friend

I was going to write a post last week but life and work got in the way. Then on Friday I recieved news that my best friend from school days - Barbie had died, she had been very ill and despite her bravery with smiles and laughter she slipped away from us last Tuesday. Her loss has rocked my world. She was and is a very, very special lady, she was the life and soul of the party but she'd be your support if things were bad. She leaves behind a family and friends who will miss her very much, but she will live on in our hearts.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.
