Thank you Leigh

Look, what arrived in the post today for my birthday. Its from Leigh in America. My favourite colour purple in yarn, a beautiful blue flower brooch and a cute card with a monkey on which Leigh made. Thank you very much Leigh, I love my birthday presents. I shall have great fun finding a pattern for the yarn and wearing my lovely blue flower brooch.
Works in progress: another baby blanket, this time made of crocheted granny squares in a rainbow of colours in baby yarn. It will be for another teacher friend who is expecting in the Autumn.
I am pleased to say that the Grey Wagtails are still with us, building their nest. They chirp and sing to each other whilst they are nesting, both bringing material to the nest. At the beginning it was moss and strips of grass which they have woven into a perfect oval shape and then they have lined it with cream coloured hair or wool. We have had a couple of occasions when a blackbird has landed in the same climber and the Wagtails didn't like it, so I'm hoping that it doesn't scare them away.

I would like to say a big thank you to Lesley because she sent me a gift for my birthday.













With a beautiful card in my favourite colours, which she had made.












Inside was a beautiful purse with a spool of pale pink spotty ribbon four skeins of thread, and a pattern for me to make a bear. He is gorgeous Thank you Lesley









Today we went to Arundel and had lunch out in Belinda's restaurant, the food was delicious.

Happy Birthday

Its my birthday today, the sun is shinning and the birds are singing - perfect. I had turned off my alarm so I could sleep later than 6am, but a delivery lorry started crashing his metal cages around and I woke up at 5.55, everyone else is still asleep. I found some birthday cakes on the web which look amazing, I think this is my favourite - it even has my name on! Tony bought me a Tatty Teddy cake last year, (I'm a big fan of TT)









My Mum made me a delicious coffee cake last weekend and for a joke put 60 and 18 - subtract them and now you know how old I am. Whilst we were on Easter break I was busy with some crochet the bag that started off as the Giants shoe sole turned out like this. I was delighted with the finished bag. So I made another version for my Mum's neighbour, but forgot to take a photo. I also made a baby blanket for a friend who's expecting in September, I do hope she likes it. Now I'm experimenting with hyperbolic crochet! Back soon Jane x

We celebrated Em's birthday at the weekend with family. My Mum knitted a beautiful jumper on her knitting machine which takes DK - Chunky yarn. The jumper has a black kitten on it which Em loves.

Em loved her birthday at school because all her friends sang Happy Birthday and many of the teachers wished her a Happy day too. Later in the week Em's friends are coming round for a DVD and meal.

I would like to spread the love to Cup cakes at home because I love reading about their life in Scotland with the animals. i'm a ginger monkey, because I admire her sewing/crafting Lucy Locket and Moogsmum for the laughter and crafting, Mushroom meadows for her beautiful drawings and crafting, Raindrops to Rainbows for just being herself and those beautiful photos of cornwall (I've never been there and now I want to visit) just another row because I love her knitting and cooking. Kaz's crafty bits because I am in awe of the cards she makes. Monkee maker for the monkey madness and laughter. Seeking saknity for the beautiful knitting and the inspiration it gives me. Marytree for sharing her adventures of life and crafting with her two beautiful girls. Little cotton rabbits for her beautiful knitted animals. Sarahs House for the music especially Avril.
